About us and our services
inter-net supplies prepaid NBN-based residential broadband services in Australia. We resell wholesale access via industry partners; we do not own or operate the physical NBN network.
For support or general enquiries, email communications@inter-net.au during Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm AEST. Our website is https://inter-net.au.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
Expressions of interest (waitlist)
Registering interest in a service is not an order and does not guarantee that service will become available at your address or on any particular timeline. We may contact you about availability, plans, and next steps using the details you provide.
You may withdraw your expression of interest at any time by contacting us. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Accounts and authentication
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure. We use one-time sign-in codes sent to your registered email address. Do not share sign-in codes with anyone.
Ordering and contract formation
A service contract is formed when we accept your order and confirm activation details, not when you submit an expression of interest or begin checkout. We may decline or cancel an order where service cannot be supplied at your address, required information is incomplete, payment cannot be processed, or we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
Plan inclusions, speeds, pricing, and the applicable Critical Information Summary will be presented before you place an order. Until checkout is generally available, registering interest or checking availability does not create a service contract.
Prepaid billing and payment
How billing works
Our services are prepaid unless we state otherwise at the time of offer. You pay in advance for each billing period. There is no lock-in contract term on our home offers (confirm with counsel and the Critical Information Summary).
Payment methods
We process payments through Stripe. By saving a payment method, you authorise us to charge it for renewals and other agreed charges. Stripe's terms apply to payment processing.
Missed renewals and week of forgiveness
If a prepaid renewal payment fails, we keep the service live for a short grace period (our “week of forgiveness” — currently seven days) while we attempt recovery or you update payment details. After that grace ends without successful payment, service may be frozen. Draft — confirm grace length, notice, and freeze behaviour with counsel before publication.
Pricing changes
We may change plan prices or inclusions for future billing periods. We will give you reasonable notice before a price change affects your service, consistent with applicable law and industry codes.
Service supply and performance
Service availability, speeds, and technology type depend on your address and the NBN network. Advertised maximum speeds are Layer 2 wholesale speeds associated with each plan tier; actual speeds vary with NBN technology, in-home wiring, Wi-Fi, congestion, and other factors outside our control.
Where your technology type or network status limits certain features (for example, instant pause or restoration), we will describe those limits before you order.
Pause, freeze, and restoration
Where your NBN technology and our wholesale arrangements allow, you may pause service so renewals stop while your account remains. Instant pause and resume are not available on every technology type; where they are not available, restoration may take longer or involve additional steps (confirm before order).
After a failed renewal and grace period, we may apply a soft freeze (keeping wholesale access in a state that supports faster restoral) or a hard freeze (releasing wholesale access; restoral time and cost depend on technology). Draft product mechanics — customer-facing labels and exact behaviour will be confirmed with counsel and our aggregator.
Emergency calls
Carriage providers must support access to Triple Zero (000) and related emergency services for active services where required by law. Confirm scope and technical requirements with counsel and our wholesale aggregator before treating this section as final. You are responsible for maintaining suitable customer equipment and power supply. If service is suspended, paused, frozen, or otherwise unavailable, emergency calling may not work through our service. Broadband alone is not a substitute for fixed-line voice access to Triple Zero unless we expressly supply a voice product that supports emergency calls.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel service according to the options shown in your account or described in your plan materials. On cancellation of a prepaid period, unused days are refunded pro-rata where required by the Australian Consumer Law or where we expressly agree otherwise (confirm calculation and timing with counsel).
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Acceptable use and fair use
You must not use our services to:
- Break the law or infringe others' rights
- Send spam, malware, or abusive content
- Interfere with our network, systems, or other customers' use of services
- Attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or third-party networks
- Resell, share commercially, or operate the service as a business product unless we expressly agree in writing
Our home plans are offered for ordinary residential use. We may apply a fair-use policy and may suspend or terminate service if you materially breach these Terms or use the service in a way that creates risk to our network, providers, or other customers. Draft — publish any quantitative fair-use thresholds only after counsel review.
Complaints and dispute resolution
If you have a complaint about our services, billing, or conduct, contact us at communications@inter-net.au. We will acknowledge your complaint and work to resolve it promptly and fairly, in line with applicable telecommunications complaint-handling rules (confirm timeframes with counsel against the current TCP Code).
If you are not satisfied with our response, or your complaint is not resolved within the timeframe required by applicable telecommunications rules, you may refer the matter to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman on 1800 062 058 or via https://www.tio.com.au.
Financial hardship
If you are having difficulty paying for your service, contact us as soon as possible at communications@inter-net.au. We will work with you on reasonable options before prolonged suspension or disconnection, in line with applicable telecommunications consumer protection requirements (confirm with counsel). Options may include payment arrangements, use of any applicable grace period, pause where available, or other measures appropriate to a prepaid service.
Website and intellectual property
Our website, branding, and content are owned by or licensed to us. You may use them only for personal, lawful purposes connected with our services. You must not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse our systems except as permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data arising from use of our website or services. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the amount you paid us for that service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, except where a higher minimum liability applies under non-excludable law.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these Terms.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page and, where appropriate, notified through your account or email. Continued use of our website or services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires your explicit consent.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state, subject to any non-excludable rights you have to bring proceedings elsewhere under consumer protection law.
